I wonder what it is

I wonder what it is like to be insane. Not bi-polar or something similar but full on bat-shit insane. Could you tell you were?

From what I understand, the patient's understanding of their state is unimportant in establishing a case of clinical psychosis. I did know someone with a full-on case of multiple personality disorder whose various personalities (those who were old enough to grasp the concept) did understand what was going on. And another guy who knew that God wasn't talking to him, but was compelled to behave in certain ways anyway.

I've worked with a number of two-faced people but never actually met someone with MPD. That would have to be a bit disconcerting.

I've always wanted to meet someone who thought God was talking to them, mostly because it would be intereting to quiz them as to exactly WHICH god they think is talking to them and how certain they were. Which likely wouldn't do anything for their mental state...

Cheryl's (I think that was her name...I knew her kids much better than I did her) daughter, Sharon, told me her mom was part of an MPD group where a handful of people would get together every week and watch a movie, play cards, etc. Sharon said that she'd always try to get their child-personalities to come out when they were playing cards, because then they'd forget the rules and ask her which cards they should play...
