You know your doing something weird when you check the Civ4 forums and find everyone talking about how Diplomatic victories are hard to get and yet... Diplomatic victories I find are the absolute easiest to get. I go out of my way to avoid them now by building the United Nations and then not calling for the Diplomatic Victory vote so I don't win. Sooo weird...

Out of the people that I know that play Civ 4, you are the only one that can get diplomatic victory.

Wow. Of my six finished games so far, 4 have been Diplo' victories because I finally said "Fuck it, no way they'll catch up technologically enough to be a threat to me and I don't have the patience to hunt down every tiny last one of their cities, lets vote me the leader."
The other two were Spaceship victories where I probably could have had a Diplo' victory but figured since I already had the Apollo Program built I might as well just spend another 11 turns or so and build all the spaceship parts at once in various cities across my empire.
Haven't managed a Cultural, Conquest, Domination or Time victory yet.
Cultural is the one that looks insanely hard to me, 3 cities with 50k accumulated Culture points. Closest I seem to be getting is one city with 70k and a bunch more in the high teens or low twenties.
