Stanley Hotel
Went up to the Stanley Hotel with the crowd of usual suspects out here today. Much fun. Neat hotel. Interesting history.
The Stanley Steamers themselves are intriguing. Years ago, as a child and dragged by my male parental unit to do 1 to 1 1/2 scale model trains I spent a summer helping a person there build a steam engine from scratch. So, in theory, if civilization ever collapsed I may have the practical skills needed to build a steam powered car.
Okay, not really, it has been years and I didn't quite understand the engineering aspects at the time I was helping, but it is a nice thought.
The freaking uneven floors of the hotel was making me feel somewhat unwell though. Felt like I was always about to fall over when standing still because the floors were so weird. Big bumps and divots as we walked down the halls all hidden beneath the carpets.
Anyways, back at Doyce and Jackie's now and getting ready to head over to a part over at Dave's.
