Rain

Raining a lot the last few days. Like the weather systems are trying to make up for the last of rain in the first three months of the year in these last couple weeks of the year.

Don't mind though. Like the rain. The sound of it on the roof and the windows, waking up to it, the way it makes the world outside look and the way it smells on the wind.

Of course, being an Oregonian I'd have to either like the rain or move out of the state or go insane from the at times near constant downpours.

Someone I know theorized once that the wet weather is why the Pacific Northwest produces so many serial killers. All the moisture just rots their brains and morality. ( Personally I think that theory is bunk, it is more likely because we have huge expanses of land which is still all forest where no one lives to hide bodies in. )

The only downside of the rain is that I often tend to be lazy on rainy mornings as I just lay in futon ( well, I have a futon and not a bed, I guess the phrase still works ) and listen to the rain and drift back to sleep instead of getting up when I should.

It also is a good excuse for developing indoor hobbies like reading or gaming or LEGOs or... Yeah, you get the point.

Birding?

Is that where you dress like a bird and stand on tree branches and drop eggs on people below you or is that like bird watching where you go to look at birds or is that hunting for birds?
