Blog-yeurism

Well, the 'voy' in 'voyeurism' comes from Middle French 'voir' or 'to see' so I think amusing oneself by reading the blogs of strangers as reached by links followed from ones own blog might very well be 'blogyeurism', just not sure about the 'y' in there.

Anyways, the amusing part about that whole Meme of the Sevens thing for me so far hasn't been actually doing it, but has been in following the links around and looking at the blogs and lists of total strangers and some of the surprising or strange things people have had on them.

This is also a good sign that I have too much time on my hands, really should go to sleep instead of staying up to watch more Batman:TAS on dvd, and pick up more hobbies.

Spent a good chunk of today outside. Been interesting with all the rain lately. Mount Hood is up to 98% of the snow depth they like to have at this point in the year, but way way less density then they would like. Along with all the weird ups and downs in temperature lately it's been a strange bit of humidity lately.

Short form of that last paragraph is: 'almost no rain all year, last two weeks making up for it all at once'.

Flood watches up for western Oregon until tomorrow night. River downtown is pretty high, but doubt it will flood over its banks this time. Remember when it did that once when I had an office downtown. Was pretty impressive to see. The actual city slopes towards the river, so it didn't do much actual property damage, but seeing it sloshing up over the banks and helping with the sandbags made for some pretty impressive memories.

There is actually a signpost on the side of one of the city buildings downtown marking various floodwater points. Can't remember when, but one of the signs marked it having flooded taller then I am sometime in the last hundred years which would have put the water level one hell of a lot higher then normal.

Closer to home, Johnson Creek was supposed to have crested at 11 feet at about four PM today. It starts to go over its banks at 9 feet and is normally closer to four or five. Lots of rain lately.
