The droning about "Supply and Demand" was one of the things that most put me to sleep in my college Economics class. The only truly interesting part was how the various teachers talked about it. Some liked "Butter and Bullets", others like "Bagels and Beverages", but all of them seemed obsessed with using B-words to do it.

There was a never ending supply of laborers coming into the town of Desperation. Men, hardened by years in the bush, women trying to eek out an existence of their own under the hot Australian sun. Even children -- some on the run from orphanages, some just suddenly "there."
