The flower was of metal and glass, a work of art. Created by a human's hands and not nature, there was a permanence to it that made it other-wordly and fae. A sense that this flower would neither bloom nor wilt, and because of that did not wholely belong in this world and did not truly exist in the way that a flower should. No petal would ever fall from it, but tears and blood would be shed over it.
