The ladies sat in a circle, the highest born of them claiming the window seat as hers while the others rested upon cushions on the floor. Their embroidery hoops in their laps, small spools of colored thread at their sides. The gossip and chatter passed freely among them, the colors of the gardens flowers competing with their dresses and needlework. Politics of the women's court, as sharp as their needles.

"Embroidery? You want me to take up embroidery?"

"Well, I was kinda hoping you could make me a bowling shirt."

"Bowling?!? What are we, King and Queen of White Trash, now?"

"Well all the other bowlers have one."

"AAAArrrgh!"

It was a beautiful spring day, but Lady Marion sat pent up in the castle, unable to be out and about. It wouldn't do for a lady to get sunburned, of course. No, she was sent by her mother to work on her embroidery, and oversee the kitchen staff, and other such tasks as would fall to her when she was married.
