The elbows on his tweed jacket were worn from the many hours they rested upon the surface of his old maple desk. A pad of paper lay atop the smooth wooden expanse, a sharpened pencil atop that. The blank white space of the paper, calling to him, trying to lure some thoughts from within his mind to be expressed as words as he sat there in his old worn tweed jacket.

What a weird word for today... The only two uses I could think of were 'tweed jackets' and 'Boss Tweed' but I didn't know enough NY history to be able to write about him well enough to even think to try it.

"Tweed better than kevlar, my ass." The sulty female librarion ripped a stake from her shoulder. "Who's kidding who here? A nice kevlar vest would have been way better."

Short but sweet. And full of yummy reference!
