The greatest naval marvels the world had seen, two boats sheethed in metal. Cannons sounding off again and again, raining balls of metal down upon the iron hulls of one another. The ironclads were to be the dominate naval weapons of the Civil War, though neither quite lived up to the earliest expectations.
Neat word today, had a lot of ways come to mind to use it, went for what seemed the most random or least likely anyone else would come up with it.

She was clad all in silver. Shoes from Jimmy Choo, that wrapped tiny leather straps around her toes and ankles. A dress that glittered with the reflected colors around the room, and a dangling necklace that lay across her collarbone. She shone.
You went with warships, I went with shoes. Interesting.
