Looking ahead
Talk about a webcomic that sums up my mood right now: Diesel Sweeties : "The Percentages Always Favor The House". Got this big stack of half-started projects, both writing and art ones that I really should do something about.
75.5 hours until staples come out of my stomach. Description of it was that it was going to feel like getting pinched firmly when they take a staple out. Twenty-six times getting pinched firmly down my tummy is not promising to be enjoyable. Still, will be nice to be able to take a hot soaking bath again. Have been restricted to just showers since surgery, probably because I had that big cut in my abdomen and water pressure / seepage into my torso cavity would have been bad. Don't really mind showers, but I got enough sore muscles that just collapsing into a tub of hot water with a book to read and soak for a while sounds nice.
Four weeks from today NaNoWriMo starts for this year. They usually send emails out letting people know that it is starting up soon. Not sure if they have already gone out and I skimmed right past them or not. But sign-up for this year went live back on the 1st of October. Need to see if my login and password from previous years still works.
Thirty days from today I go to see the hand surgery people again and they tell me if I can stop wearing this damned splint or not. It is cut back enough that I can actually type with both hands again, but it is starting to rub a blister into my wrist which is rather annoying and uncomfortable.
Though in about thirty minutes from now I plan to be on my sofa, collapsed out, watching a DVD. So if I am going to keep to schedule I need to end this now and go do that.

Nice comic. Yeah, I can totally relate. I've got -- let's see -- one nonfiction proposal to redraft, one finished novel to revise, one complete synopsis to revise and flesh out, one novel to get pass the first four chapters, another synopsis to finish, a short story to write and submit for a contest, and I've lost count of all the little short ideas I've had in the past that never went further than a page or two.
So I don't think I can do a full Nanowrimo by myself again. But I'm still thinking on that shared story idea...

For the record Starship Troopers is NOT whimsical and light-hearted. What the hell was I thinking when I described the film that way this morning to a friend over the phone. Damn. I soo soo did not remember most of that movie.
I know I'll try to do a full NaNoWriMo again. I've completed one once, but immediately tore it to shreds in revisions and gotten to about 20k words a couple times before the month ended or I got distracted by other things.
Last count I had 12 stories in various states of world-building or writing, two different web-comic ideas in the process of working on character designs, and a stack of partly finished sketches and artsy type thingies to work on. I really need to work on my follow-through on these things. *sighs*
