Sense of Scale

Try this real quick. Put your thumb on your chest, just below where your ribs all come togethor and spread your fingers out wide so your pinky is down by your navel. Now figure that much, and add again the length of the tip of your thumb to the first knuckle again.

That is how freaking big this incision is. Had to change the dressing on it today, first time I had done it myself, and stood in front of a mirror and saw just how long it was. I had thought it stopped above my belly button but it actually curves around it and extends a bit down past it.

Damn.

No idea how many staples this is. Didn't pause to count. Next time I do that I'll need to remember to take the pain med's first ( happy Oxycodin... ).

Do have to say, that once the staples are out ( another week and a half to go... ) and all the aches and pains have gone away, it is going to be one damned impressive looking scar.
