The man on the soapbox catcalled and yelled at the crowd as they walked by. His rants about religion and damnation, about the girls looking like whores in their make-up, about the nation being a new Sodom or Gomorroh. He had been there for years on that street cornor, sharing his opinions with all who passed by him. Some days with a megaphone, some days without. Rain, snow, sun or cold.

"That's about the worst timing ever."

"You think?"

"Falls off the building, onto rocks, rocks get hit by truck --"

"Carrying anvils, yeah, I know I was there. But worst EVER?"

"In my opinon? Yeah."

Opinion is the only truth we can know. It suggests subjective perspective on theoretical absolutes. We seem to need to preface everything we say with "in my opinion." But what can we say that is outside our opinion? Of course, that's just my opinion...

"No, you're wrong."

"You can't just say that. You have no evidence. That's just your opinion."

"Yes, and my opinion is that you're wrong. Egregiously wrong. So wrong, it would take a mountain of rights just to get you back in the vicinity of correct."

"That's nonsense."
