One Word - Sept 07
So writing is one of those habits and hobbies that I would really like to actually turn into a career someday. If for no other reason then because it would let me get all the crazy story ideas bouncing around inside my skull out somewhere on paper where they would stop echoing and keeping me up at night.
But, it is also something I have the hardest damned time actually sitting down and doing. A lot of the time I'll have a head full of ideas, and then suddenly I'll sit down to write and all of my inspiration will flitter away before I can put pencil to paper or get a text editor open.
So, trying to get back into the habit slowly. Figured I'd start with something fun which is where this comes in. OneWord came across a friends blog a while back and I keep forgetting to wander back over and visit it again, but since I have this big blog of my own now... Might as well fill it with little bits of writing like this.
Anyways, so I don't spoil the word of the day for the rest of you, posting what I actually wrote as a comment and just a link to OneWord here so you can write something of your own in the 60 seconds they allow and come post it as a comment to share or what not.
OneWord
Edit: The word for Sept 07 was 'Yarn'

The box was full of yarn. Colors upon colors. It had been intended once to become a scarf, or maybe a sweater, and now simply was a neglected bundle of thoughts and hopes and ideas.
The dust coated it, tarnishing the once bright colors. A box of potential forgotten and left behind by some knitter of the past.

Dig it. I curl my claws into her big basket of yarn, digging and twisting, pulling the threads, catching the colorful strands between my pads. It's comforting and teasing, all at the same time. There's always more of it.

I gathered the neices and nephews around and told them an old yarn about my days as a roadie for one of my friends Electronica band.
I told them of the time that they played the Ogden and were the local warn up band. It was fun to have the all access pass, and to meet the guys KMFDM.
*sigh* Good times...good times.
